Year 2014
Program The Hormuz Bridge International Competition
The design is aimed to build a stronger and more easy relationship between Middle East countries with the new generation Boom Cities of the Arabian Peninsula such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha. The bridge is conceived not to simply be used as lane transit. It’s designed to be a linear city, a commercial and livable space along which are distributed facilities and activities.
The "Skydown Bridge" reflects to the sea the image of "skyscraper", arising as a series of sea towers with different destinations built around the supporting structure of the bridge. The density of the high-rises contrasts with the lightness of the structure. The visual iteration of this structure system along the path performs the function of a threshold to cross between the two different sides of the Strait.
