Program Photography, Research
The photographic project portrays the intervention for Capsule Hotel and Bookshop by the Shanghai based studio Tao + C in the city of Tonglu, Zhejiang Province, China. The redevelopment of the large rural building in the village of QinglongWu aims to rethink the relationship between the surrounding landscape and the different degrees of intimacy of the phalanstery within it, combining spaces for public consumption and the search for individual experiences. The photographic project was published and created for the ArchAlp magazine n.4, accompanying the article “Without flexing one’s muscles”: the regeneration projects of Tao+C and AZL in the wake of the “prosperous society” of contemporary China by Edoardo Bruno and Dalila Tondo.
